School Board Election Information

NOTICE OF SCHOOL BOARD VACANCY AND APPOINTMENT PROCESS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the electors of the School District of Spring Valley of a current
vacancy on the School Board in the office formerly held by Joan Ford. The School Board
intends to appoint a qualified elector of the District to fill the vacancy through the remainder of the last year of a three-year term that shall expire on April 26, 2026.

School Board Policy Code: 142.5 VACANCIES states: Appointment by the Board to fill a
vacancy shall be by the members of the remaining Board. The appointee shall hold office until a successor is elected and takes office.

To be eligible, a candidate must:
● Be at least 18 years of age and
● Reside within the School District of Spring Valley

Application Requirements:
● Individuals interested in filling the vacancy can do so by writing a letter of interest to the
PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD in care of the Superintendent or their designee at the
District office, S1450 CTH CC, Spring Valley, WI 54767
● The letter of interest should contain:
○ The candidate’s name
○ The candidate’s address
○ The candidate's telephone number
○ A statement as to what qualities the candidate will bring to the Board of
Education that will enhance the Board’s decision making
○ A statement that includes any other information the candidate deems appropriate
and/or relevant.

To ensure consideration, the letter of interest must be received in the Office of Superintendent prior to 4:00 p.m. on November 13, 2025.
A subcommittee of the school board members will review all applications and make a recommendation based on merit to the full School Board for approval by November 19, 2025.

April 3, 2026 - Write-in Candidate Registration Deadline for Spring Election

April 8-14, 2026 - Board of Canvassers (Will be noticed as an Open Meeting)
